I'd believe it. As the article says, "A new study shows that many people may unknowingly hold racist views, contrary to how they view themselves."

If I had a dime for everytime someone started a story with, "Now, I'm not trying to be racist, but..." then proceeding to tell a very racist story or express their own racist views, I'd be so rich! I am just going to start shaking down these people and taking dimes from them. It'll be my very own March of Dimes. :D

I think people think that just because they don't hate people of a certain race, that means they don't have any racist thoughts or have behaved in a racist way. People can very easily be unintentionally racist, even if they are very nice, very well-intentioned people. I think the danger is that we think the only way for people to be racist is to be a complete and utter a-hole, but I think that to be a better society, each of us have to challenge our assumptions and check ourselves analytically on a day to day level.

LOL funny how this test focused on white people. First, there are more than two races in the world. Second, I guess no one that does these studies believe that other races aren't racist. They need to hop out of their bubble and get out and live in the real world.

Why would you think that about the researchers? There was nothing to cause you to jump to the conclusion that they think no other race is racist.

Also, they tested "120 non-black participants" not white. Why would you say they are talking about two races? This clearly indicates to me multiple races.

Sure, they should have *more* studies with more races as targets, as this one was studying specifically anti-black racism in other races, but it's certainly a place to start. Just because they couldn't cover all ground doesn't mean no studies should be done.

Why would you assume they live in a bubble? I'm not trying to attack you, but ask questions that make me curious when I read your statement.

No the study was done with whites and blacks, not blacks and asians, or asians and arabs. Every study that comes out in the news is whites and blacks.
