Using formula (usually based with wheat or soy) is what makes people allergic to certain foods that contain those ingredient, of develop Celiac disease. There are very important nutrients and protection for the immune systems of babies, expressed in breast milk. The Breast is the Best, even if it is sonmeone else's!

When my one of my younger brothers was born, my mother has a lot of excess milk, so she "wet-nursed" a German woman's who could not nurse because she had infected milk glands.

This type of thing is the way it USED to be in this country. Helping one another any way you could. There are now "Milk Banks" being formed so that if you are a nursing mother with extra milk, you can pump it out and the bank will freeze it for future use. Women who can not breast feed can go there and get milk for their babies.

The women are carefully tested and screened so that thing that would be undesirable (like medications, alcohol, tars and nicotines from smoking, illnesses, etc.) will not be passed on to the children. This is an idea that has been needed in our society for a long, long time.

He COULD use it, but his son will be a lot healthier in his life if he doesn't use it. People's immune systems are keyed into breast milk for their immunity boost. When you use formula, you don't get those important immune boosters. The banning of breast feeding, and making women feel like criminals if they do it, has caused a larger reliance on bottle feeding. Bottles can introduce all kinds of undesirable things, from infections to rotten teeth. These problems rarely ever occur with breast-fed babies. Bottle babies also have less colic and are overall, just healthier.

Remember back a while ago when the formula's were tainted and babies got very ill or died? That in itself is a really good reason not to use formula. There are applications, like with Lucus, that you may have to use it, but it is being relied upon too heavily. I think going back to what nature intended is best. These women know that.

agreed. in addition there is the contact, the nurturing that results from breastfeeding. far too many children having children don't have the parenting skills necessary to raise a baby properly. simply pop a baba in their mouth and set them back down and go back to watching reality tv.
in addition, to comment on the story you posted about assisted suicide, people ARE "healthier" to an extend, and living longer these days. as a result their are people who are infirm, and unhappy. maybe if more were allowed to age and die naturally, things would be better in this world. the allergies and maladies many suffer today, are manmade. the insurance companies don't want to pay to keep the ill and injured "healthy", well if we didn't live to be 115, yet hobbled by infirmities, we'd all be better off.
i'm not sayin' this with malice, or suggesting a mass ignorance of the elderly, they have earned the priviledge to live their lives out in comfort, not nursing homes, or on life support.
when my father, 68 at the time, was stricken, the doctors said if he had survivied, he would have been very dependant on blood cleansing, three times a week, at great cost and travel. my mother and i discussed, "Would he have wanted that kind of standard of living?" We both agreed he would not. I was the hardest decision, she or I, could EVER have to make. But he is at peace, as he should be.

We most likely WOULD live to be 115 and in good health if we were all breast-fed as infants, by mothers who did not smoke, drink, do drugs, or eat to much garlic (gives babies MAJOR gas!)

As for dying when you feel you can't take life anymore. I think it should be an inalienable right, just like freedom of speech, the right to keep and bear arms, and the right to pursue happiness. It is something that everyone should decide for themselves and with their families. I know if my quality of life were taken away, I would not want to be a burden on my family, financially or emotionally!

true that, too bad freedom of speech is illegal in fubar. i've had my account deleted, for posting "You can polish a turd til it shines, but it's still a turd". Think Mr Mike Hedlund believes in freedom of speech?
