It's funny: do we have UN inspectors coming over here to make sure we're not making more nukes? Does France or England or Germany? I wonder...

I was going to say that they all probably have articles saying the same thing about us.

It's even more funny that for all the hubbub over other countries gaining "horrific nuclear arsenals with which to terrorize the world", which country is the only one that's EVER used a nuclear weapon during wartime?

You have overt crazies like Kim Jong Ill over in NK parading around like a nuclear rooster TRYING to get attention by acting out and everyone is more interested in making sure Iran can't even BUILD a nuclear plant? And really, what're they going to do if they CAN make a nuclear bomb? Drop it on Israel? For some reason I just don't find that entirely likely.

For the most part, it would be akin to cutting off your nose to spite your face.

We haven't openly threatened anyone with a nuke. There is a big difference.

Yeah, but we used a nuke to end a war. And if you look at the way that it was used in all honesty it probably saved a lot of lives. These people are looking to use a nuke to start a war... well the next generation of war before it ever begins.
We never tried to nuke another country off of the map. Kim Jong is just bragging about nuking japan as soon as he gets the material. Remember that long ranged missile he launched at them back in the 90's?
Iran has been threatening to nuke Israel off of the globe since the first learned of the nuke. Big difference.

So every time someone threatens to do something you assume they are actually going to do it and act accordingly? Its called posturing.

We don't have to verbally threaten other countries. We bully around, take over and stick our noses in other countries business so much that everyone pretty much has the idea that we would do it if we felt it necessary.

Yep, we are the bad guys. We are so big and evil and corrupted that nobody in the world dares look at us cross eyed. Oh no! Look at America bullying around the nice peace loving country of Iran.

Yeah, well when we waltz into other people's countries and run it how we think it should be run that's pretty much what other people think. They ask for our help but I'm sure they don't like it when we try to run it our way. Just can't figure out why we don't focus on running our own country our way and keep our noses out of other countries' business. We wouldn't lose so many soldiers that way (not including the recent, idiotic Texas incident in this).

Yeah... both Britain and the USA already have nuclear weapons (the USA having more than any other nation on the planet), that really gives us the right to a say on what type of weaponry other nations have. Even more so when you consider that the US (backed by the UK)has actually used weapons of mass destruction on another nation, where-as Iran hasn't.

It's a total hypocrisy for either of our country's leaders to make demands on Iran in this way.

The difference between us and Iran is the fact that they call for the destruction of Israel. Even if they do make nukes and they do hit Israel, you think they'll stop there?

The attitudes all around with this story just stinks. This whole thing would have an entirely different tone had Bush said what Obama is saying now. As far as Iran saying they want to nuke Israel into non-existence...I'd say it's fairly safe to take a guy like Ahmedinijad seriously. Alot of people went nuts because Bush didn't do enough before 9/11 when there were threats that there would be a terrorist strike in the US. I don't even think I have to go into Hitler...we know how all that turned out.

Don't take these kinds of people seriously and it'll bite you in the ass...
