How 'Rolling Stone' Got Into McChrystal's Inner Circle
ShallaBOOM says,
I really think that McChrystal was fed up and frustrated with the current batch of inept politicians making uninformed, politically motivated decisions that have absolutely no place in Afghanistan while we have troops in harms way.
From the interview when asked about how the military has reacted to the RS article:
'in Kandahar, and having more than one person come up to me and saying, "We heard about your story, and we like McChrystal, but the message needs to get out there that these restrictions he’s putting on the soldiers are no good." '
Afghanistan was nearly to the status of an non happening when Obama took over. It has bloomed since then and the US death toll has taken a huge leap. That should be enough to illustrate that Obama has no business being the Commander in Chief of the military.

"It's the kind of story that ricochets through Washington -and around the world-at lightning speed. "The Runaway General," published by Rolling Stone and written by former NEWSWEEK reporter Michael Hastings, recounts the misgivings of Stanley McChrystal (the commanding general in Afghanistan ) and the closest members of his team about...

This rounds out his performance doesn't it? He sucks in dealing with the militarily, he sucks in dealing with foreign affairs, he sucks in dealing with domestic issues, He sucks in dealing with the environment, he sucks in dealing with economy, he sucks in dealing with unemployment... ive always said in the past. let the generals/soldiers run the wars/battles and let politicians cleanup after its all said and done. politicians in a war zone is as out of place as a skinhead at a bar mitzvah.

I figured as much :D
They are actually characterizing the article as a hit piece. Supposedly there is no criticism of Obama. There is a mention of Biden, but that's supposed to be it. He just resigned & is being replaced by Petraeus. That's interesting because they basically called him a liar and blasted him on the whole surge last year. It's all political. I think Petraeus is a good guy, but I'm waiting to see if they start ripping him to shreds later.

about the only thing ive seen pointed at obama was remarks about his undecidedness about sending more troops last year. evidently this incident has been brewing for some time. i just think the RS article was the last straw.
i also just found an article online where he has been replaced.
