Depression as deadly as smoking, but anxiety may be good for you

I'd like to read the actual study because I'd like to know if depression + smoking is more deadly than smoking or depression alone. I'd also like to know out of those who died while suffering from depression how many committed suicide, And, in general, what are the major killers in all of these different groups.
I'd like to think that researchers cover all possible ground but I know that the ppl who write the studies up for further publication never do.

the best way to cure depression is to change the way you view things. How you think, it's cognitive thinking. Look for a book by Dr. David Burns...used to have a copy but gave it to friends mother. "Cognitive Thinking" (is the title, but I might be wrong)it gives tools and exercises on how to change your thought pattern. Way better than drugs, which only compounds the problem, not solve it.
